The Evolution 2013 Player’s Choice donation drive ended Friday and Super Smash Bros. Melee (SSBM) finished in first place with $92,544.44 donated in that game’s name. After the donation results are confirmed over the next few weeks, SSBM will become the 8th and final game in Evo 2k13′s featured game list and will also get a bonus $1,000 added to it’s prize pool for winning the donation drive.
Skullgirls was a close second place with $78,744.97 donated, but they fell just short of matching SSBM’s generous donors. Super Street Fighter II: Super Turbo also got a surprisingly large contribution to push it up to almost $40,000 after being near the bottom for most of the donation drive. In total, the Evo 2k13 Player’s Choice donation drive raised over $223,000, all going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
