Today ROOT Gaming announced that the Korean Protoss Sage, formerly of New Star HoSeo and Alt-Tab Gaming has joined their team.
The announcement follows a slew of acquisitions for the NA based team including Minigun and most recently former SlayerS player YuGiOh. The acquisition of Sage makes ROOT’s lineup all that much stronger, in a team that many fans considered to be more casual than competitive.
ROOT Manager Paulo “CatZ” Vizcarra stated in their announcement post,
“When Sage first left NSHS, I made him an offer to join ROOT because he was everything we were looking for in a player. Unfortunately at the time, Sage wanted to either live in the US or Europe … this time around he is happy to stay in Korea … and even though we know of other good offers he had to consider and I’m glad that he chose us.”
In his brief interview on the announcement post, Sage said
“I’m really glad that I found the right team for me, although it took a long time, and I want to thank all the teams that made me an offer, and especially CatZ and ROOT.”
